Carlos Pion is an award-winning, creative director and designer, specializing in
branding for retail, fashion and lifestyle brands. Carlos is a very strategic thinker
who develops brands with one idea in mind; differentiation.
In a saturated global market, differentiation is a brand's most valuable
competitive advantage. Pion's primary goal is to discover what sets your brand
apart and amplify it to your target audience. He takes much pride in creating
work that is as original as your vision and brand story.
Carlos Pion was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
He studied graphic design at Altos de Chavón School of Design and
Parsons School of Design where he received his BFA.
Before becoming at consultant Pion spent more than fifteen years
honing his branding skill at Concrete Brand Imaging Group where he became
V.P. of Design in 2012. At Concrete Carlos developed design strategies,
identities, branding programs, promotional materials, packaging and web designs
for a broad range of clients that include among others Aden Hotels,
Ann Taylor Loft, Burberry, Bloomingdales, Creora, Conde Nast Traveler, Gerber,
Everything But Water, HBO, Joan Rivers Worldwide, Exhale Spas, Kohl’s,
Lacoste, Lia Sophia, Martha Stewart, Master Card, Michael Kors,
Rachael Ray, Rea Sea, S.T. Martin Press, Spiegel, Tory Burch Foundation
& White House Black Market.
Carlos’ work has been recognized by The Type Directors Club, Graphis, Parsons School of Design,
UNESCO and GD U.S.A. Magazine. In 2000 his work was selected to be exhibited among the best
Dominican designers living in New York. This exhibit included the work of
Oscar de La Renta among others.
Carlos has conducted numerous design & creative workshops here and abroad and he is
a member of The Type Directors Club and AIGA, the professional association of design.
