CARLOS PION

Carlos Pion is an award-winning creative director and designer specializing in branding for lifestyle brands. Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, he honed his craft at the prestigious Altos de Chavón School of Design and later at Parsons School of Design in New York, where he earned his B.F.A. in Communication Design.

With a career spanning over two decades, Carlos is known for his strategic approach to branding—helping brands stand out in an increasingly saturated global market. He believes differentiation is a brand’s most valuable competitive advantage and focuses on uncovering what makes each brand unique, amplifying it with compelling design and storytelling. His work is rooted in originality, ensuring every project aligns seamlessly with a brand’s vision and purpose.

Before establishing his consultancy, Carlos spent over a decade at Concrete Brand Imaging Group, where he rose to V.P. of Design in 2012. During his tenure, he developed brand identities, design strategies, packaging, and digital experiences for globally recognized brands, including Aden Hotels, Ann Taylor Loft, Burberry, Bloomingdale’s, Creora, Gerber, HBO, Joan Rivers Worldwide, Exhale Spas, Kohl's, Lacoste, Lia Sophia, Martha Stewart, Mastercard, Michael Kors, Rachael Ray, Red Sea, St. Martin’s Press, Spiegel, Tory Burch Foundation, and White House Black Market.

Carlos' work has been recognized by The Rockefeller Center, The Type Directors Club, Parsons School of Design, UNESCO, G.D. U.S.A. Magazine, and Graphis International Awards & Publications. In 2000, his work was selected for an exhibition showcasing the best Dominican designers in New York, alongside industry icons like Oscar de la Renta.

Beyond design, Carlos is a passionate educator and thought leader. He has led creative workshops both domestically and internationally and has served as a judge for Premios Agripina, a prestigious advertising and design competition in Seville, Spain. He is an active member of The Type Directors Club and AIGA, the professional association for design.
